The second edition of Conference on ‘Classification Regulations and Advanced Technologies for Naval ships and Auxiliaries’ was conducted on 27 - 28 Jun 2023 by Directorate of Naval Architecture of IHQ MoD (N). The conference was inaugurated by the VAdm Sandeep Naithani, COM. Representatives from various units of Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, DRDO labs, Classification Societies, Indian Shipyards participated in event. The conference provided a forum to understand advancements in role of Class Societies to promote indigenous warship building and its maintenance in line with international standards. The conference covered sessions on Autonomous and Unmanned vessel, Naval Submarine Code, Green technologies and Sustainable Ship maintenance which were presented by eminent speakers from Classification societies IR class Lloyds register ABS Class NK RINA DNV Bureauveritas . During the conference, Class Societies also highlighted their capabilities in providing qualitative transformation using Green technology, Decarbonisation and Futuristic concepts such as Digital twins Autonomous vessels. RAdm K Srinivas, ACOM(D&R), delivered concluding remarks for conference.
