Tripartite Contract for recreation of 'Ancient Indian Stitched Ship' as a commemoration project has been signed by Indian Navy, Ministry of Culture and M/s Hodi Innovations Pvt Ltd on 18 Jul 2023. The project aims to revive 2000yrs old ancient technology of stitching ship together, which was practiced in ancient times for construction of ocean-going vessels. It is planned that Indian Navy will undertake a voyage on this vessel through traditional routes in 2025. Through this project GoI is aiming to revive and preserve this traditional craft which was an integral part of glorious maritime past of India.
