Commodore M Dorai Babu, Additional Director Maritime History Society delivered an inspiring lecture on "Lesser Known Pereira and Life Lessons” on 20 Jul 2023 at INA. The lecture was aimed to motivate and inspire Officer Trainees and Midshipmen through invaluable experiences and insights from life and times of Adm R L Pereira, the ninth CNS who is a revered and respected Naval Leader. The Admiral is widely remembered for spearheading groundbreaking naval modernisation initiatives, igniting aspirations of future generations through pioneering leadership, strategic ingenuity, and an unwavering commitment to advancing maritime defence and global security. The speaker enlightened audience about service career of late Adm and steady growth achieved by IN in lifetime of the officer. His captivating anecdotes and thought-provoking insights left a lasting impact on the audience, instilling a sense of motivation and determination. The birth centenary of Late Adm was celebrated on 25 May 2023. The guest lecture was conducted as a part of Pan-Navy celebrations to commemorate birth centenary year of renowned Admiral. The speaker, an accomplished author, also delivered an enlightening lecture on self-authored latest history book of Indian Navy, titled 'A Decade of Transformation – Signalling Power and Partnerships 2011-2021', imparting valuable knowledge to the audience and showcasing Navy's remarkable journey of growth, strategic influence, and collaborative endeavours. The event was graced by Chief Guest VAdm Puneet Kumar Bahl, Commandant INA.
