VAdm Biswajit Dasgupta, FOCINC ENC addressed media at Visakhapatnam today. During interaction, CinC highlighted transformational changes that he has seen Indian Navy undergo over last four decades of his naval career. These include Indian Navy's expanding operational footprint, international reputation as a world-class navy, growing self-reliance, increased professionalism and quality of life of naval personnel. Admiral also expressed his deep appreciation for unwavering support extended by AP State and Visakhapatnam District Administration in successfully organising capstone events in 2022 including Navy Day Op Demo, International Exercise MILAN2022 and PFR, as well as facilitating several Naval projects of importance. Notably, Admiral highlighted deep-rooted connection between Indian Navy and city of Visakhapatnam and their growth in tandem over decades that has only reinforced their unique symbiotic bond. As part of future roadmap, Admiral announced that MILAN24, scheduled for Feb 2024, would be a landmark event, in its magnitude and stature, for Navy as well as City of Visakhapatnam. The prestigious international event is expected to witness even greater participation from friendly foreign navies than previous editions, fostering maritime cooperation and goodwill among navies of world.
