On occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a plantation drive was undertaken by Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology, Kochi at Kumbalangi park in Ernakulam district on 26 Jul 2023. As part of the drive, fruit bearing trees were planted in coordination with Panchayat members of area. The event was conducted in accordance with initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairsand Sports, GOI to affirm commitment of people to soil. Mrs Leeja Thomas, President, Gram Panchayat Kumbalangi presided over the event, which saw active participation of service personnel and veterans. The Panchayat members expressed their solidarity for environmental cause and Indian Navy's support towards the initiative.
