World breastfeeding week themed “Enabling breast feeding, making a difference for the working parents” was celebrated at INHS Asvini from 01 to 07 Aug 2023, with aim to promote breastfeeding among lactating mothers. Various activities were conducted by Nursing Cadets of College of Nursing and Dept of Paediatrics, which included sessions on benefits of breastfeeding, composition of breast milk, human milk storage and banking and normal physiology of lactation with demonstration models. The campaign also addressed problems encountered while breast feeding. In addition, a workshop on breast feeding was also conducted with Surg RAdm Vivek Hande, Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini as Chief Guest.
