As part of GoI initiative Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, Indian Navy conducted Coastal Cleanup activities on 1 Aug 2023 at various parts in Visakhapatnam. More than 750 Service and Defence Civilians from ENC participated. The area covered for clean up included Yarada, RamKrishna, Jalaripeta, Thotlakonda, VudaPark to East Point Light beaches. ️The aim of the cleanup activities is to create awareness amongst the local communities on clean seas for safe seas. Other water bodies in the city including Meghadripeta River Channel, YardEstate and Harbour waters inside Naval Dockyard were too cleaned up. Approx 1100 Kg of non-biodegradable wastes were collected and disposed off safely.
