HE Javier Manuel Paulinch Veladre, Ambassador of Peru to India and Sri Lanka visited HQWNC on 23 Aug 2023. At HQWNC, the Ambassador interacted with VAdm Dinesh K Tripathi, FOCINC WNC. During the interaction, historic diplomatic relations between two countries was acknowledged. The need for furthering bilateral relations in all domains and specifically with regards to maritime cooperation between two navies was also emphasised during the interaction. The Ambassador shared planned port call of Peruvian Navy Sail Training Ship BAP Union at Mumbai in Nov 2023. BAP Union is a four masted barque with 34 sails. The sail training ship is used for imparting sail training to midshipmen of Peruvian Navy. The ship is scheduled to visit Mumbai from 01 to 05 Nov 2023 during her ongoing circumnavigation. The visit of the ship to Mumbai is also significant as India and Peru celebrate 60th year of diplomatic relations this year.
