A coastal security awareness campaign was conducted by a team from NOIC(Kerala) at Neendakara fishing harbour in Kollam district on 23 Aug 2023. The campaign is part of Indian Navy's initiative to promote awareness on various facets of coastal security and instil a sense of pride amongst the fishing populace. The campaign was undertaken in coordination with Dept of Fisheries, Kadalora Jagrata Samiti and Coastal Police, Govt of Kerala. During interaction, fishermen were briefed regarding their vital role as 'eyes and ears' of security agencies. Key aspect of safety precautions at sea including SAR organisation were also covered.
