VAdm MS Pawar (Retd) visited INS Chilka from 04 to 07 Sep 2023. During his visit, he addressed the Agniveers undergoing training and delivered an enlightening talk on history of new Naval ensign, unravelling symbolism behind its distinctive octagonal shape and shed light on its historical connections with Maratha Navy and their role in India's struggle for Independence. He also witnessed an enthralling Boat Pulling Regatta between the Trainers and Agniveers, which was keenly contested and won by Agniveers. A guided tour of the training establishment was also provided to him and briefed on key initiatives and infrastructure augmentation undertaken for successful implementation of Agnipath scheme.
