In a joint initiative between INS Parundu, Ramanathapuram Forest Division of Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, the Aerial Seedball Dispersing Campaign was inaugurated at INS Parundu on 09 Sept 2023. This event, conducted in alignment with Global Seedball Campaign, organised by C20WorkingGroup on Sustainable and Resilient Communities (SRC) focusing on Climate, Environment, and Net Zero Targets, will achieve the successful aerial dispersal of 4,00,000 seedballs across the district's landscapes. RAdm RK Dhingra, FOTNA inaugurated the event along with Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, trustee of Mata Amritanandamayi Math. The seedballs are slated to be scattered across a vast expanse totalling 3715.765 hectares within the Ramanathapuram district during the monsoon period.
