SNC has been at the forefront in promoting environmental conservation activities with special emphasis on theme Garbage Free India at Kochi as well as all Naval training establishments spread across the country. Special Swachh Bharat Campaign with motto Ek Tarikh Ek Ghanta was undertaken by all units of the Command. Being Training Command of Indian Navy, it has been a constant endeavour to motivate young officers and sailor trainees to imbibe habit of keeping our surroundings cleaner and greener as part of their grooming as responsible future Naval leaders and dependable citizens of India. Every small effort counts in creating a cleaner environment. Today's effort of one hour not only contributes towards conservation of environment but also create awareness amongst masses to make cleanliness a habit that shapes a better future. Around 10000 Service personnel, Defence civilians, school children actively participated in cleanliness drive at MG Beach, Fortkochi beach, Marine drive, COPT walkway, Willingdon Island, Bolgatty, Queens Walkway at Kochi. VAdm MA Hampiholi, FOCINC SNC led the cleanliness drive at Fort Kochi. Similar cleanliness drives were held in full swing at Jamnagar, Lonavala, Malad, Goa, Ezhimala, Lakshadweep Island, Coimbatore, Chilka and Visakhapatnam. In addition, as part of awareness drive, poster making competitions, felicitation of Shramveers, undertaking of Swachata pledge ceremony are also planned on 02 Oct 2023. Over a period of time, various multi-dimensional approach has been adopted towards implementation of proper waste segregation and disposal, sustainable policies, reducing plastic consumption, recycling of bio and non-biodegradable waste and zero waste practices. SNC has been totally committed towards a cleaner and healthier environment making the dream of Swachh Bharat come true.
