Four members of WNC mountaineering expedition, viz Lt Cdr Prakhar Gour, WD Singh, MCPO AOF II, Jaivir Yadav, MCAA-II and Ravindar, JWO successfully summited and unfurled the Naval ensign atop Mt Bhagirathi-II (6,512 m/ 21,365 ft) peak on 30 Sep 2023. While on summit, the team also paid tribute to the naval mountaineers who had sacrificed their lives two years ago on 01 Oct 2021, while attempting to summit Mt Trishul. The expedition led by Cdr Kokila Sajwan comprising 15 members was flagged off by VAdm Sanjay Bhalla, COS, WNC from HQWNC on 12 Sep 2023. The team trekked through Nandavan Base Camp, Advanced Base Camp and Camp 1 to reach Summit camp on 29 Sep 2023.
