Lt Gen Virendra Vats, Commandant, DSSC along with four Directing Staff and 30 student officers from 79th Staff Course visited Lakshadweep Islands and SNC from 29 Sep to 05 Oct 2023. The visit provided insight into Naval operations as well as wide spectrum of qualitative training undertaken in Indian Navy. The student officers witnessed state-of-the-art training infrastructure, facilities and demonstration of simulators during visit to professional schools. Additionally, delegation visited INS Garuda, the Naval Air Station and were familiarised with Naval aviation capabilities. The officers had the unique opportunity to visit indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant and interact with ship's crew followed by a guided tour of various facilities and workshops at CSL. The visit of 79th Staff Course DSSC to SNC was a testament to jointmanship and shared commitment to national security. It provided them valuable insights into role and functions of various specialised units within SNC and a platform for mutual learning and appreciation of Indian Navy's operational capabilities.
