Second day of the Continuing Medical Education CME included a panel discussion addressing issues of Life at Sea from a seafarer’s perspective which drew wide appreciation. The CME included non-medical sailors presenting their viewpoint in a medical conference for the first time to provide a different perspective. The remaining sessions addressed a wide range of topics including Artificial Intelligence, mental health, sleep medicine and CBRN preparedness. Delegates from friendly foreign navies shared their experiences in the field of Marine Medicine. Renowned Scientists from NIOT and DRDO enlightened the gathering about progress in manned submersibles and touched upon areas of possible cooperation with the Indian Navy. In addition, aeromedical issues in naval perspective were deliberated. Finally, medical challenges in far-flung, remote areas and possible ways to tackle them were also discussed.
