Swachhata Pakhwada is an initiative of Hon'ble Prime Minister, to engage swachhata activities emphasising on creating awareness for cleanliness, hygiene and safeguarding of environment. To commemorate this fortnightly event, various activities were organised from 01 to 15 Dec 2023 by the ENC. The events spread across various stations witnessed proactive participation by all Naval, DSC personnel, Defence civilians along with their families. On the first day, a Swachhata Oath was undertaken to promote the mission of Swachhata (cleanliness). Then after, various activities were conducted like Beach clean-up activities, cleanship drives/ Shramdan, plogging drives to collect plastics. Activities like screening of Swachhta Videos/ Telefilms, Lectures/ Workshops on curbing Single Use Plastic, Segregation of Waste and community educational programmes on Health, Hygiene and Cleanliness were conducted by all units/ establishments under ENC. Other activities like Best out of Waste competitions, Art and Craft activities, Painting and Essay writing competitions were coordinated for children, families and personnel to instill a sense of responsibility for the environment while fostering imaginative expression. To conclude the event, Walkathons/ cycling expedition and Plantation Drives were organised towards preservation of environment and Go Green concept.
