A conference titled Industry-Navy Technology Exchange and Reinforcing alliance with Academia for collaborative Teamwork- INTERACT 2023 was organised on 19 Dec 2023 at IIT Delhi. The conference aimed to provide an interactive platform for all industry partners involved in supplying defence materiel pertaining to hull and engineering systems and associated ship repairs onboard Naval Ships/ Submarines. The event was spanned into three sessions during which recent policy initiatives wrt QA/ QC procedures, GeM procurement, possibilities/ opportunities for collaboration of Navy-Industry-Academia and FITT towards induction of niche technologies viz usage of Robotics and AI in domain of ship building/ repair and methodologies facilitating crew centric aspects of warship design were extensively deliberated. Reps from ICG, Shipyards, IIT Delhi and other academia, GeM, FICCI, FITT, DIPAS, DSC Badarpur, DoS attended the event. INTERACT was an initiative inline with Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives of GoI towards boosting and encouraging active participation of industry in collaboration with academia.
