Lt Cdr Ujjwal Choudhary of INS Shivaji stood at national ranking 1 and global ranking 210 in age group 25-29 years in IronmanTriathlon All World Athlete Rankings for the year 2023. The Ironman All World Athlete AWA program is a global ranking system created to recognize the achievements of participating athletes across the world. In 2023, the officer excelled in three Ironman Triathlon races at Astana, Kazakhstan, Ironman Triathlon World Championship at Nice, France, and Ironman 70.3 in Goa. The officer has also qualified for Ironman 70.3 World Championship scheduled in Dec 2024 at Taupo, New Zealand. In addition, the officer stood first in Mangaluru Triathlon, Vizag Ultramarathon and Herculean Triathlon at Udaipur, Rajasthan. He was also part of Indian Navy's 1500 Km running expedition. His remarkable achievement has not only brought laurels to Navy but also to the country as a whole.
