French Navy Ship FNS Lorraine was on good will visit to Kochi from 03 - 07 May 2023. The ship is an Aquitaine class frigate which has recently participated in evacuation operations in crisis hit in Sudan. On arrival at Kochi, ship was accorded a warm welcome in background of fanfare by Indian Naval Band. Captain Xavier Bagot, Commanding officer of French ship called on Commodore Sumeet Kapoor CSO(Ops), SNC and discussed issues of maritime interest. During visit, a training delegation of Indian Navy undertook professional interaction onboard French ship. Officers of French Navy visited INS Sutlej and shared best practices between Navies. On departure from Kochi, FNS Lorraine undertook a Passage Exercise PASSEX with INS Kolkata on 08 May 2023.
