Naval Aviation, Industry Outreach Programme

Indian Navy’s Naval Aviation Industry Outreach Programme was organized at CODISSIA trade fair centre, Coimbatore on 11 May 2023 by Indian Navy's, Aircraft and Engine Holding Unit AAEHU in collaboration with Codissia Defence Innovation and Incubation Centre CDIIC . The event was organized to accelerate the pace of indigenisation of aviation equipment in keeping with government's mission of Aatmanirbhar bharat.

The event was chaired by RAdm Deepak Bansal, ACNS(Air Material) and Mr. Ramamoorthy. Director, CDIIC. The event was attended by delegation of over 20 officers from various organization of Indian Navy and representatives from more than 150 industries in and around Coimbatore. While addressing participants, ACNS(AM) apprised them of ensuing need for indigenisation in Naval Aviation, especially Aircraft Spares, Ground support equipment and repair of Aircraft Components. Mr. Ramamoorthy in his address brought out immense potential of Coimbatore industry.

Two local industries which had undertaken successful repair of Naval Aviation components were felicitated by Indian Navy during the event. The industry outreach was aimed to appraise Industry representatives about opportunities in Naval Aviation especially in repair of aircraft system, components and spares. Components requiring Indigenisation as well as repair support were also displayed during the outreach. The interaction session received good response from Coimbatore industry and acted as a platform for industry to understand Indigenisation requirements of Naval Aviation.
