In pursuance of Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, ENC has dedicated one day each month to undertake coastal cleanup activity including rivers and lakes. The Coastal Cleanup activity for May 2023 was undertaken at Prinsep Ghat Kolkata on 13 May 2023. More than 175 service personnel from INS Netaji Subhas participated in event over a stretch of approximately 1.5 Km. The aim of campaign is to increase awareness amongst local populace, early morning walkers in Prinsep Ghat as well as Local Rail Travellers about proper disposal of waste and non-usage of plastic in coastal areas. Approximately 65 Kg of non-biodegradable waste, which included plastic bottles, wrappers, thermocol, glass pieces etc, were collected for safe disposal by Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
