Passing Out Divisions of 105 IOTC Onboard INS Tir

An impressive Passing Out Divisions of the 105 Integrated Officer Trainees Course was held onboard INS Tir on 10 Nov 2023. 106 officer trainees including one foreign trainee each from Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius and Vietnam passed out from the hallowed portals of the First Training Squadron. Rear Admiral Upal Kundu, CSO(TRG), SNC reviewed the Divisions and awarded trophies to the meritorious officer trainees. The coveted Chief of the Naval Staff Trophy and Telescope for the Best All Round Sea Trainees was awarded to Sea Trainee Piyush Namdeo Thorve. Sea Trainee Satyam Yadav received the Binocular for standing first in overall Order of Merit and Sea Trainee Sadashiv Korade received the DG ICG Trophy for the Best Coast Guard Sea Trainee. The Chief Guest interacted with the passing out course and shared his experiences with them. He also awarded book prizes to the meritorious sea trainees. The sea training phase of 105 IOTC 2022 commenced on 11 Jun 2023. During this period, the sea trainees were imparted instructions and hands on practical experience on Navigation, Communications, Gunnery, ASW, OOD/ OOW duties and Seamanship. The sea trainees visited various ports on the East and West Coast of India and got an opportunity to sail overseas to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The passing out course will now join various frontline Naval warships and Coast Guard patrol vessels on the Western and Eastern Sea board for further afloat training.
