As part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, ENC dedicates one day in every month towards undertaking coastal cleanup activities, including rivers/ lakes. The Coastal Cleanup was conducted along the sea coastline, beaches , harbour fronts at Visakhapatnam, Kolkata and Chennai by various units of Eastern Naval Command at Yerada Beach, RK Beach, Kalinga Beach, Gangavaram Beach, Meghadripeta River Channel, Sea fronts on 21 January 2023. The aim of this exercise is to create awareness amongst community regarding plastic usage, impact on oceans, rivers and water bodies. Personnel including service and defence civilians of ENC, School children and locals undertook also participate in the cleanup drives.
