Indian Navy Paid Unique Tribute in Eternal Gratitude to The Ultimate Sacrifice Of Brave Ins Khukri

Indian Navy on 11 February 2023 paid unique tribute in eternal gratitude to the ultimate sacrifice of brave INS Khukri and her crew by laying wreaths underwater at final resting place of ship that was lost in 1971 War. Deep sea divers of INS Nireekshak placed three wreaths on Khukri; one on behalf of survivors and families of those lost, the second on behalf of all ranks of Indian Navy and the third on behalf of Operational Commander, FOCINC WNC. INS Khukri sank on the night of 09 December 1971 with 18 officers and 176 sailors, including Commanding Officer, Capt Mahendra Nath Mulla, who stayed courageously on the Bridge as the ship went down. The ship and her fearless crew now lie at a depth of appx 80m, about 100 nm off Diu. INS Khukri continues to live and will forever inspire a grateful nation and her Armed Forces.
