As part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, ENC has dedicated one day each month to undertake coastal cleanup activity including rivers/ lakes. The Coastal Cleanup activities for March 2023 were undertaken at Yarada beach, RK Beach, Bheemli Beach, Meghadripeta River Channel Visakhapatnam on 18 March 2023. The aim of these cleanup activities is to create awareness amongst local communities regarding hazards of plastic usage and its impact on Oceans and Rivers. More than 550 Service and DSC personnel of ENC, and local residents participated in cleanup drives at coastal areas spread across the city. Approx. 450 Kg of non-biodegradable waste including plastic bottles, wrappers, thermocol, glass pieces etc, were collected from these sites towards restoring pristine conditions.
