SNC Afloat Function was held at Naval Base, Kochi

SNC Afloat Function was held at Naval Base, Kochi on 30 Jun 2023. The award function was conceptualised to acknowledge operational achievements and combat efficiency of SNC ships over past year. VAdm MA Hampiholi FOCINC, SNC was the Chief Guest. During event, annual report of activities and accomplishments of various afloat units for past year was presented. In a busy operational year, ships of SNC have been at forefront of operational activities ranging from salvage operations, anti-narcotic missions, coastal defence exercise, SAR Ops, Lokayan22, hydrograhic survey in IOR, post commissioning trials of indigeneous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and maiden afloat training of Royal Saudi Naval cadets in India. The ships participated in various maritime partnership and bilateral exercises in their endeavour to ensure Security and Growth for All in the Region SAGAR. A total of 10 trophies representing various dimensions of naval operations, innovations, safety practices and morale were awarded to ships. INS Sutlej was awarded 'Best Ship' for exhibiting immaculate grit whilst undertaking a plethora of maritime operations. INS Nireekshak was awarded 'Most Spirited Ship' for an awe inspiring display of enthusiasm and morale in all afloat activities, exercises at sea and indomitable spirit. Apart from recognizing operational excellence and contributions of ships, the award function also showcased impressive talent of personnel onboard ships. On completion of event, Chief Guest interacted with officers and crew of all ships of SNC.
