A delegation of seven officers from friendly foreign countries undergoing Maritime Security Course (MSC-07) and eight officers from Indian Army, Indian Air Force undergoing NHCC-36 at NWC, Goa were at SNC, Kochi from 17-21 Jul 2023 as part of orientation phase. The visit was aimed at exposing officers to varied facets of modern training, operations, technical infrastructure and maintenance capabilities of Indian Navy. They were provided an overview of wide spectrum of qualitative training undertaken in terms of cognition, skill and technology along with transformational change of Indian Navy as preferred training destination for friendly foreign countries. The officers witnessed various training infrastructure, facilities and demonstration on simulators in professional training schools and establishments at Kochi. They were briefed on operational and training role of Air Squadrons during visit to INS Garuda. Visit to various repair and maintenance facilities at NSRY provided an insight into crucial role of Yard towards operational availability of assets. An interactive session was held with VAdm MA Hampiholi, FOCINC SNC and issues of Tri-service and foreign training were discussed. The visiting officers interacted with RAdm Susheel Menon, FOST and were briefed on organisation of Headquarters Sea Training and activities undertaken by Workup teams. The international officers were briefed on role of HQST as Regional Centre of Excellence. The delegation had unique opportunity to visit indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and STS INS Sudarshini and interact with ship's crew.
