Rear Admiral Upal Kundu assumed charge as COS SNC. An alumnus of INA, he was commissioned into IndianNavy on 01 Jul 1991. The Flag Officer is an ASW specialist and has commanded INS Trikand, INS Kuthar, erstwhile INS Akshay and ashore units INS Tanaji and INS Kadamba. He has tenanted various operational and staff appointments at Headquarters WesternFleet, WNC and NHQ. A graduate of DSSC Wellington and Joint Higher Command Course (SESKO-TNI) Indonesia, he was also Commodore Bureau of Sailors. On promotion to Flag rank, he assumed duties of CSO(Trg) at SNC prior taking over as Chief of Staff.
